Big Leaf Maple Burl

Finally got some shop time this weekend even though it was COLD!!! I put together this Big Leaf Maple Burl Cigar pen.

Nice figure and some burl eye.

Sanded to 600 grit. 10 coats CA and micro meshed then buffed.

Comments good or bad are welcome. It is how we improve!!

Don't both commenting on the picture. I know I have a ton of improvement needed there. I am starting my first photography class on Tuesday. Hopefully it will make the creations look a ton better!!!

No stabilization needed. It was actually very solid. The ends were a bit soft when I milled them but I milled a little big and then sanded the rest off on the lathe and a collet chuck.

I am glad that it turned out the way that it did. I just purchased a ton of these in 5"x5"x2" blocks.
