My 2nd attempt at a bias cut pen (no photo for first attempt, so it didn't happen )

I love the way it looks as you change the orientation. I haven't got the foggiest how to do a video (even though my camera shoots them) or worse, post.

Until I get a fill flash to bounce, this is an attempt at a light box, with a piece of paper held in front of the flash to diffuse reflections. The color matches pretty well. The pen was hard to make (the bias cut grain loves to blow out!). Finish is CA/BLO.

You did a nice job on the pen, the chatoyance comes through on the photo, which is hard to capture as well.

As with you, I've lost more pens with grain cut this way, than I've managed to get off the lathe. Often find the 120 gouge is the only tool that works after getting "close".
