I was fortunate enough to have gotten a Bezalel blank in the Super Bowl winnings. I had no idea what I had received until I did a little searching on Bezalel. This one is a beauty called Fragma Cast-Jarrah Burl. It was a challenge to keep it together as a portion kept popping out. You may not be able to see it so much in the pictures but there a slits of red resin pressurized through the Jarrah Burl.

Eric that's a GREAT looking pen! Perfect wood for that hardware. I'm lucky enough to still have a few of the Bezalel blanks, one of which is the same Fragma-Cast you have...I've held on to it this long not knowing what I wanted to make from it.

Beautiful pen, I can imagine the problems with a filled Jarrah blank, the stuff is HARD and most resin is softer than the Jarrah so it had to be fun to get that beautiful of a finish.

So what kind of finish is that? It's great! Just like glass. And now I'm off to google Bezalel blanks since I've never heard of them...

Thanks all! It was tricky one, but the finish is 3 coats of med CA and about 5 coats of thin CA. Sanded the ridges of with 600 grit then wet micromeshed through the first three pads then buffed with my three wheel system including Carnuba wax.
