If you haven't tried Karl's blanks (or Eugene's for that matter) I recommend them.

I forgot to tell you why I called this 'beer.' Karl named the blank Beer Bog.

heh...That blank was made around St. Patrick's Day, it was actually "Green Beer Bog", but Syd didn't get it until much later, so the theme kinda lost it's coolness! heh

Nice pen, Syd! How'd it turn? I made mine shortly after I cast it, so mine was still a little 'gooey' in the middle. Did you paint the inside of the blanks after you drilled them? I have a bunch of that weird patterned box elder left, it's not really burl, it's more like the bark has open lesions on it, really weird stuff. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with those pieces.
