Reminds me of lacewood too.. anyone know how this tree is related to others?

Hi Katya yes I do Beefwood is Grevillia striata related to Aussie Silky Oak and Casuarina.
I was so tired when I posted (its after midnight now) I misspelt BEEFWOOD and KIMBERLY.

THis Kimberly stuff is different from the Southern stuff in appearance its called Beefwood cause it has the appearance of sliced meat.
Nice to say Hi again.'

Kind regards Peter.

Terrific pen Peter. Shows the timber at its best.

I have some Beefwood that I collected from the Weipa area of far north Queensland, when I lived up there. It looks different again.

One day I will group some of our aussie blanks together and take pics naming the blanks there are infinite types names and excitement with our country so huge and the climate variation is incredible even with my old favourite Brown Mallee just a hundred miles can see total differences. I think I could muster up a couple of hundred blanks to illustrate this. With our Aussie dollar down freight rates so high both ways I remember when our dollar dropped even further so exotics will be restricted to my stash.

Peter.
