July 25th, 1956, the Italian oceanliner Andrea Doria was rammed by the Swedish liner Stockholm. It capsized and sank the next day.

This Baron is made from a section of Teak handrail from the Doria that was recovered from the wreck in July of 2004.

that is a nice looking pen, with a nice history too....neat that you could put them together the way you did...always nice to know a little history of the wood

I have some mixed feelings about this pen. While you did a nice job of making it, the wood is coming from a site that I have spent time diving and know that taking anything from the ship is frowned upon as it is a grave site.
