Baren, made with barbeque skewers

We had a barbeque and had a bunch of skewers left over so I kept them just in case I could use them for something and last evening used them to make this pen. These skewers are like giant toothpics, nice and round. After turning on the lathe, I used red and blue acrylic paint to accent the crevises and sanded it down and apply a CA finish. It looks really good in person. Looks like bambo now. My wife loves it.

Looks like bamboo most likely b/c skewers usually are bamboo.
