Banksia has nice grain formations as well as the unknown when it is turned, it turned out nicer than I had hoped so will try other ideas using these pods from West Aus. Is it available over there?
Cheers ...........Cj ........

Great looking pen. What did you use for the color fill, sure does set the pen off. We do have banksia available here, but don't remembr seeing any cut into pen blanks.

G'day all ......... always great to get your thoughts on the posting .... the pods are very dusty amd messy to work with and I think protection should be used at all times. I had to cut them into blanks myself and there is a fair bit of waste as they are prone to fall apart. The voids, where the seeds have been, were filled with coloured epoxy. We have smaller pods from the mountain banksia locally which I will try soon , will post if successful......... keep turning out those pens .........Cj ...[8D]
