Bakelite Pen Clear with Gold Star Dust

Here is a bakelite I had not seen or turned before. Clear bakelite with gold star dust swirled in blank. After drilling barrel I painted inside a yellow/gold so not to see tube. Worked out quiet well.

This stuff seem to be very difficult to work with for some reason. Don't know if it's the gold dust that caused this or what. But started out as a full size pen and cracked top barrel so went for a sierra vista. Even this section started out a little rough for me. But final out come was a nice looking pen, that's what counts.

Very striking. You sure do seem to score the best bakelite.

Jason, you should see the piece of bakelite I scored this weekend :biggrin::biggrin:
Orange with black and a little white swirl in it.

When the blocks come in by the end of the week I will post some pics.
