Hi, Here are a few pens I made over the last week or so from materials from members here on IAP.

The Bakelite is from Dawn "PR Princess"
The Serpent and Blue rods came from Larry "Pipeyeti"
The Ebonite is from Richard "Scubaman"
The Dessert Ironwood Burl I bought off eBay. Was a beautiful block which I cut in half to make two blanks. I should have made a larger pen, as I was turning for smaller pen started to loose the wonderful burl design.

They all look nicely turned and great fit!

I think the DIB still shows lots of good burl figure and I really like the Serpent. The bakelite is also a lot more interested than many of the plastics I've tried.

Hi Larry, Suprisingly I found the bakelite easy to turn. I turn down close to size with a carbide tip and finish with a sharp chisel. Sands nicely also. I love the stuff. I was a bit afraid to turn after reading some posts here on the site but glad I tried it.
Dawn has some nice bakelite on her site.
