Here is a black and white Bakelite that I picked up from exotics a few months ago. Another pen here inspired me to try it. Originally the Bakelite looked yellow and black, but inside it was black and white! Cutting through with the bandsaw, it developed some cracks and chipping. Filled those with CA and continued on with the drilling. More cracks developed and CA was used once again. Turned it with very light cuts and used the 150 grit to bring down to size. I can't see any cracks and am very pleased with the result. Added a Heritance nib and it's ready for inventory. Now to price this little bugger...

Wow... Very nice....

Price it at 2x whatever your other gents are at... Either you will be happy when it sells or it will make everything else look like a bargain and sell your other pens :)

Thanks for the comments.

Dean, I really like your suggestion on the pricing. I'll see how that goes. So I should price is at a grand here in this Michigan economy?

LOL... wow, thats gotta be nice... your normal jrs are $500? Cool!:biggrin::biggrin:

In all seriousness - this is not just my idea. Ed has stated similar, and my brother is VERY good at this. As a matter of fact, a couple of years ago he had a small show on base that he told me about (he's in the Air Force). He realized that he had no "higher" end pens available. He made a Tru-stone blank, highlighted it as special and put a high price on it. It was the first sale.

I always have a couple of pens priced above the rest. Once in a blue moon they sell, but the rest of the time, I swear they help sell my midrange pens.
