Heres another one I got to finish today.

I started this pen a few months ago, but gave up on it because I was having a lot of trouble with the CA finish on this timber.
I found them amonst the shavings on the bench so I gave it another shot.

Still not real happy with the finish I achieved, but here it is.

Looks good in the pictures to me too. I like that wood. Very striking to me. I haven't seen that ebony before. The fit and finish looks good.

Yes it is a very striking and unusual wood
I think not many in Australia knows it even exists, let alone actually seen it.
It grows in a small, fairly isolated area.

I did some research on this timber after being questioned about it.

It is Diospyros Humilus, aka Queensland Ebony.
It seems its growth area is a little larger than I first thought.

Wow, that is an excellent pen! I am a fan of the Sedona anyway, but the wood is so interesting that it makes an outstanding statement. Thanks for posting this one.
