This timber varies in colour and conformation. The particular sticks from this derivation can have black lines through it as this one typifies. It is a rich deep brown ,turns without complications associated with other burls.
Pic was taken outside in overcast sky so the brilliant shine appears flat.
The location of this tree was a thousand miles from my place, harvested and brought to Canberra by my mate who recently cut 7000 blanks from nearly two ton of prime burl for the overseas trade, very few had this depth of black lines. Any one who can buy burl timber ,cut, dry, good conformation from reliable dealers in your own country should feel happy your prices are so low it is a labour intensive business involving incredible hours spent.
