This was one of my first attempts at tube in casting. I did this for my fiance's papercrafting hobby, the shields are from a paper collection she was using, in which she cut the shields out of the paper, and I glued them to the tube as cast them in resin.

This one was a similar setup, using a different paper set.

While far from perfect, I was pretty pleased with the way these turned out.

These are the pens with their matching papercraft projects.

What glue did you use? Did you have to wait for the glue to outgas or dry before casting?

To glue the paper down, I used a glue that she has called Glossy Accents. Then I did Mod Podge over it. I didn't know about out gassing at the time, and think that may have resulted in some of the flaws. The shield has a couple bubbles and the New York one has some weird texture thing going on over part of it, similar to looking through rippling water.
