I tried to make some slimlines out of antler when I first started turning pens. They usually turned out fat with a lot of the porous pith showing. I noticed some smaller tines in the shop and decided to try it again. Drilling crooked antler this small is tricky. This one turned out much better than my earlier attempts.

Speaking of slimlines, there will be a Slimline Contest during the birthday bash

Nice. Have some antler and trying to get brave enough to dry drilling it for a Slim Line. What's your advice for drilling?

I drilled on the lathe using pen jaws. I trimmed the blank in places using a band saw so that I could get the blank lined up without drilling through the sides. Use a respirator when working with antler!
