So I have been pen turning for just over a year now, and had to take a few months off do to some family issues. So here is my first pen since before Christmas. The antler was given to me by my father-in-law. Was told the deer was shot in the 1960's by his grandfather in Missouri. Comment's and critique's welcome.

Good job. I've turned several antler/lever action pens. I'm not a big fan of turning antler because of the smell. One thing I would suggest is to make sure you wear a respirator, not just a dust mask, when turning antler. The sanding dust especially can be very fine and antler is known for harboring bacteria and other nasty stuff. Keep up the good work. Love that lever action kit.

@magpens the antler is roughly about .05" at the ends.

@MTViper when ever I am working with antler and select other materials I have an older aircap face shield that I wear when working with hazardous materials.
