Good evening IAP,
Most importantly, this was made for a Navy Corpsman that is graduating from IDC (Independent Duty Corpsman) School on Friday. It is a gift from his girlfriend (she is one of my Corpsman, and a solid Sailor).
I made this Bolt Action from a small piece of antler. I still have a lot to work on with finishes (especially with porous material like this). I used CA to finish, then PasticX, then white diamond buffing compound. My sanding before CA application should have been a lot better, and I think I need to get a better/newer wheel and buffing compound. I did like using the PlastX and will use this a lot more in the future. I was most happy that I was able to keep a fair amount of the rough antler texture.
Thank you for viewing.
Hooyah,
Doc P
