Fay, the thumb is actually worse. However, I figured out a way to hold the chisel where I am not touching the part of the thumb that has the nerve damage. I wouldn't be able to withstand the pain! Thank you for asking

Beautiful pen and I'm not that big a fan of the watch part blanks. The fit and finish look great.
