My 13 year old son has a Theater teacher that has made a huge impact on him. This one is his Christmas present to her. Toni makes amazing poly clay works of art, all the credit for this one goes to her. I just took about 10/1000" off, sanded, polished, and coated with 8 coats of thin CA. Hope you like it.

Dan, That is a beautiful pen. Well done.

I was wondering about using these type of blanks. If you wouldn't mind if ask a couple questions:
Do you need to enlarge the inside of the tubes and glue in the components?
When you sand do you use radial and "with the grain"?

Thank you,
Rod

The polyclay flexes enough you can press fit the components like you would with wood or AA. Once baked the polyclay turns into pvc plastic. I always alternate length wise and radially between grits. I sanded 320 and 500 then micromesh to 12000. Buffed with pink rouge.

Beautiful! I saw that design when Toni and Ed stopped by to do some turning this spring. Her work is museum art quality. Outstanding!
