I decided to make another one after the reaction to the last one.

This one, I made the internals minus the twist mechanism and the refill.
Is that considered kit-less?
The bullet is made from aluminum. Much, much easier to work with.
And I made the bullet the exact length of the real one and as close to the same shape as I possibly could.

Wow....that is incredible.... what system did you use to make that mirror finish?

Troy

I sanded with micro mesh and used Mothers wheel polish on it.

Also... I wanted to let everyone know... it sold.
I was planning to keep it but, after the gentleman that ordered the last one and my wonderful husband talking about them, someone wanted it.:frown:

Now, I will have to make another one someday.

Kelly great looking 50cal would you know the length, weight thanks in advance

Sorry John, I don't know either the length nor weight. I don't have it anymore so, I can't check for you.

That is gorgeous, to say the least. What knife did you use to cut the aluminum?

I used a tool that was given to me for the copper bullet I made. It is for metal is what I was told. I don't know what it's called. I can take a picture if you would like to see it.

OAL length of a ball ammo .50cal BMG is 5.45 in (138 mm) and the round (bullet only) is 647 grains. My rough guess would be half for AL.

Could you please post a picture of the tool. I would be very interested in seeing what you used to create such a spectacular aluminum tip for your pen.

This is the tool I used. It still has some aluminum dust on it.
I put a ruler next to it so you can see the size. It fits in my hand pretty nicely.
The square part is about 3/4" x 1", just guessing. And it's about 4 1/2" long.
It is heavy too.
