Hi Guys
I wanted to make a video tutorial on how to anodise, so i turned this pen in preparation for it :)

The videos last 37 minutes in going through the process of doing this pen.
Once they have finished uploading onto youtube i will post them in the finishing section of this forum. unless anyone has a better idea of where to post them?

Hi John
Yes ive played with multi colours. there's a couple of ways it can be done masking the piece which stops the dye getting to certain areas... or protects it when the remainder is stripped with nitric acid... i do plan on doing some tutorials on this in the future..
I am currently investigating UV masking as that, would open up alot of doors. I see UV reactive masking is being manufactured which can withstand an acid bath, but i need to get my hands on some to have a play.

With regards to the lead, there should be twice the surface area than the piece you are anodising. note that this is submerged lead... all the lead above the acid doesnt count

I love that color blue. I think if you went with a differnt backround color it would make the pen "pop" even more.

Outstanding Brad! Both on the pen and on the videos! That must of takes ages. Thank you so much for doing this!!!

Personally, I think that these would be a great addition to the IAP library as well! May want to contact TomW.

They do take a little time, though they are therapeutic :)

No worries Chuck, splash anodising may eb of interest too :)
It certainly is of interest.

no worries. youl have to find your feet with anodising with one colour before i release the next tutorials which show you how to splash anodise in multiple colours, and how to add text and graphics to your pens in different colours  sure beats engraving etc
