Default Anniversary Gift

We celebrate our 50th Anniversary today and I made my wife a really nice pen. It's a Paua Abalone on a Venus rollerball. I bought the abalone from Jon david Jones at MAPG 2015 and the Venus from Leroy Smith (Smitty) as part of one of his "Trust Smitty's Surprise" specials he offered a while back (at least that's how I remember it).

This is arguably the most expensive pen I've made and I am gifting it 😱. At least it is for a good cause and an even better person.

Really lovely and a very appropriate gift for the occasion !!!!

Don't expect too much; after all, I am a very simple sort of fellow.

Glorious Pen John for a Magnificent Occasion, and a Very Special Lady.
You have chosen a Spectacular Paua Abalone Shell Blank from Jon.
Beautifully Turned, Fitted and Finished, Paired with the Spectacular Venus Hardware.
Congratulations on Both Achievements.
Turn that special piece of Timber you have been keeping.
Enjoy it for its true beauty.
Why leave it for others to enjoy without you?

Thumbs up

An excellent choice of both pen and blanks John! And Beautifully done!
I am sure your wife appreciates your choice and attention to detail.

The abalone from Jon David was the best I've seen....should have bought some.
My wife carries a Venus in her purse. It is indeed a very elegant pen.
