I went out to the shop earlier to do some stuff, well about 5 minutes later someone decided to join me. Needless to say what I was doing got put on the back shelf.

Kind of funny she did the resin blank a while ago, and she was more reserved working on one today, so we switched to wood. I guess my language from blowing a blank up from time to time has her reserved. However I don't say anything if she does.

She is a cutie and she did a nice job.
I have had the pleasure of teaching 4 of the 5 grandkid to make pen. The youngest granddaughter(10) who live here is Sacramento makes pen every year for her teachers and is working on yin and yang pens for her Karate instructors to give them when she get her black belt this summer. When the 3 from Idaho come they all make a couple and in a year or so my youngest grandson (3.5) will start. The only thing the older ones don't do is use CA to glue tubes of apply finish I do that and they do the sanding and polishing, and final assembly. The do the cutting, drilling (on the lathe) squaring and turning. Some time it might take 2 days to do a pen as there are other to do when visiting. Usually when they get it's out to the shop to look at blanks and kits then decide who gets to go first. One at a time in the shop, safety you know.

It just does not get any better than that! Quality time and bonding, and a great pen to boot.

Congratulations to the both of you.
