Joe and I sold some last year and it seemed very plain, though his pens came out really chattoyant. It's hard to tell from a pic, but it looks like yours has some chattoyance too.

Very nice. I like the color of that wood. The fact that it is ancient wood is very interesting. My mom says my dad is getting ancient, so this type of pen would be a fun gift for him.

Very nice As allways LOU! there must be alot of history with it too.Ancient Kauri could probably date it back to the dinosaur days'Maybee lam wrong' but its unreal when you think about it' makes it very unique l think.[:D]

Thanks for your kind words. The figure in this piece is more like what the kiwis call "timber" rather from the stumps. To find more info about the wood, this is from Ancient Woods, Ltd.
