Well, this was just about the most difficult blank I've ever turned, but doable and worth the effort!

This is one of Jeff Powell's crystal canyon blanks.

I reverse painted the tube, painted the brass and dyed the glue white. I used a opalescent white to try to drive through some shine.

I had to resharpen my chisel 7 times to razor sharp. Take it very, very, very slow and fine cuts.

Polish to 12k MM and I lost count on how many CA coats I put on it.

I'll let you know how much I get for it.

Steve: I just finished the exact same blank today. I have to agree with you on all counts....the toughest one I've ever turned, without a doubt. I kept resharpening and resharpening, forgot how many times I went back to my grinder. This was not a pleasant experience. Tons of CA also. Finished great, but mine's not up for sale yet. Put it on a Black Titanium and Chorme Ultra Cigar kit. Don't know if I will do this again or not. Not worth the time or effort to put into it. Thanks for showing, you did a great job on yours.---Rich
