Here is the "problematic" Amboyna El Grande with broken twist mechanism.

Finish is much nicer than shown in the pic...there looks like a dull patch near the writing tip...actually it is an inclusion but not dull in person.

Its a practice pen anyway....first El Grande I made.

If you look closely, the wood is actually a bit proud at the writing tip part. [V] The wood looks centered well to the barrel after turning but it seems like after assembly, it was flush on one side but proud on the other. I have to look at it more later tonight and see why.

I have not been overly keen with the el-grande pens. THe bits are expensive and they feel too light for their size. JMHO That is a fantastic piece of burl though great color and figure.

I am more sorry that I used Amboyna on the kit actually. [V]

I should have used it on more classy kits [;)]...oh well at least I have more of this stuff [:D] [:p].
