I havn't made a pen in a while, I've been busy with some other projects, but tonight I decided to make a new pen for myself..A few months ago the president of our local wood turning club turned a beautiful bowl out of amboyna burl. I asked him for the scraps..
I cast them in crystal allumilite with some blue and pearl pigments. I then segmented the top and bottom barrels with alluminum and ebony..Finish is 8 or 10 coats of thin ca.

Yes, the middle and lower blanks have a segment of aluminum and ebony to match the kit parts. This gives it a different look, It was the first time I tried this look and I like it alot..The next time I will make the upper berrel ebony segment a little thicker (the same thickness as the black part of the kit)

Excellent pen, great casting and the finish looks to be flawless too!

You took the words right out of my mouth Mark:biggrin:
Even the pic is very good, though I think that if your work and pics are this good then you should change the two part backdrops to one bigger one.
The seperate sheets seem to catch your eye like a small blemish on a beautiful womans face:biggrin:
