Aluminum Segmenting Begginer

I've seen so many awesome looking pens that some of you have made with aluminum segmenting I had to try too. I picked two simple segments, one in snakewood.





and one in corian





based on how these turned out I think I will get braver and try something a bit more complex.

Now combine those 2 pens and make one. It will look great.

lol, I'm working on some embedded aluminum tubes in a verawood body right now as an experiment. it shows some promise.

I'd say you've gone past the simple segment with the 2nd pen. It's more than a little harder to drill a blank with the segment going the length of the pen. Plus it's harder to turn. So it may look simple, but it's not. Good job!

I like the Corian. What size did you start with? Did you glue two sets of 1/2 inch together to create the aluminum sandwich or did you cut a 1/2 piece in half?

I glued two half inch pieces together with a pop can slice in between.

They are both really good looking pens. Like more the Corian but the snakewood has some pretty grains. Great job!
