Aluminum and plexiglass inserts, partial knot

This is purple heart. Used aluminum and plexiglass for the inserts. I like where it went, I plan on exploring further, especially the area where the aluminum AND plexiglass went into the kerf together near the nib.

Maybe not so much a winner with this one? I wish I could have kept it long enough to turn it purple. It went home with its new owner a couple hours after it was done.

That's brass showing. I didn't paint the tubes in order to keep the reflective surface of the brass in there. Makes the plexiglass light up a little better.

I like the plexiglass idea. When you posted your first one with plexiglass I put it on my list of thing to try. Still haven't got around to it though.

It's cool stuff. Just remember to score the plexiglass with a razor and snap it off the sheet. Sawing it is not a great plan.
