I am continuing to try to come up with a refined pencil using the Parker Style Pencil Mechanism - 0.5mm. It requires a M5.75 x 0.75 tap which I have not been able to find. I used the closest tap that I could find and put a little plumbers putty on the threads to secure the mechanism into the nose cone. After turning the aluminum I powder coated it. The powder coating creates a build up that makes the nose cone joint a little too apparent. I think that I left the diameter of the barrel a tad too thick and will reduce the diameter on my next one. I am happy with how the push button and pencil mechanisms are working and with the overall operation of the pen. Addressing the barrel thickness and refining the powder coating will hopefully produce a more refined appearance. Any thoughts or suggestions for further improvement?
