I like it. What is the thickness of the aluminum and if you don't mind what is your source?
I think it "turned" out great.

the thickness is 1/8 and bought a 1/8 x 1inch x 4 foot piece from lowes..its in there hardware department where they sell the angle iron etc..steve
Off to Lowes I go.

Great looking pen! Looks way better than mine. I only used 1/16". what did you use to hold it together? CA or epoxy? I'm still trying new things but I love working with combining metal and wood.

i used ca this time but next time i'm going to try the epoxy

That looks great! Is there a reason as to why someone might use Epoxy as opposed to CA to glue together parts?

i dont think it really matterns what u use Ca or epoxy...to glue up...i'm still new at this i just seen one and wanted to try it..so i used Ca.. steve

The CA has a hard time dealing with the extra heat that the metal holds on to. So you have to take it slow. My problem with epoxy is you have to use a thicker coat than the CA so it adds a colored or even clear layer that you might not want. A least that is my experience and I am still new to turning with metal.
