small minor defects .. will have to correct them with the next one ,, it was more a test to see if I could get the lines strait. That came out well at least.

Peter, I am sure that they look a Lot Better in the Flesh, than they do in the Photographs.
Regrettably, all I could really see, apart from the Wild Life Backdrop, was the Reflected light that has drowned everything around it.
Could I suggest that you try using a Plain Light Background.
Take the Photographs outdoors during the Day, Out of the Direct Sunlight, with the Flash turned off. Try to get as close as you can while showing the Complete Pen, and load them on this Post.
I do look forward to seeing what you can do.
Regards,
Brian.

I am very interested in your techniques, Peter.

Is the aluminum in strips on top of the bronze resin ?

Or maybe the aluminum and bronze resin consist of radial "fins" ?

Would love to learn more details please.

And if that diving picture is taken on your family's property, I really envy your location !

Hi yes sorry for the low quality pics.

I found some Aluminium square bar that allowed me to insert the copper sleeve in to it.

Cut the Aluminium to size.
Filled it with the resin,
Inserted the sleeve (was blocked at the ends to prevent resing leaking into the sleeve).

and from there I just worked down the edges of the square bar till it was round .. that gave me the perfect strait lines of resin.

Next time I will put it under pressure to ensure the are no small air pockets.
