I was very lucky during the Birthday Bash this year, but my best effort was an "also-ran" in the Intermediate Pen Contest. Of all my entries, I think this is the prettiest.

Making this pen was its own prize - and I consider it a winner. The best part of the Bash is pushing my boundaries to do something new and better than I have before.

Anyway, here it is -- segmented Amboyna Burl, Turquoise Tru-Stone, and African Blackwood with aluminum accents.

...what is the name for this style of pen?

The kit is an Elegant Beauty by Dayacom. It has a smaller diameter barrel than many other kits of its size and leaves thicker wood - which is nice for glued-up blanks.
