Not gonna lie... its early, first thought came to mind is how you managed to stabilize a smoked cigar

So how did you do the ash?

I can't remember the type of the wood I used for the main part of the pen, but ofcourse I used Buckeye Burl for the ash. I burn the area where the two woods are butted together, and jab the ash part with a skew at the lowest speed on my lathe.
