I make a U.S. Army blank/pen and I had a returning vet ask me to work something up to represent the Airborne Soldier. It's just my usual "Hybrid Steampunk", made with embossed aluminum, simulated rivets and poured with Alumilite. This is what I came up with:

...C&C welcomed, as usual!

Excellent job on the blank and pen Mark!
I like the "Less is More" approach. It really lets the subject of the blank stand out and not compete with too much going on around it!

Very cool. Is the Airborne insignia a decal or actually part of the aluminum? It looks like it is painted on with the same texture as the rest of the pen.

Thanks Bob! The Airborne insignia is just a decal. If you use a decal softener after you apply the decal to the tube, it really forms well around the embellished tube and takes on the "painted on" appearance. Just a little trick I thought I'd pass on!:)
