Here are two Afzelia with Corian centerbands. These were an experiment and the 1st and 8th of a batch that are to be gifts for the people graduating from my Financial Peace University class this Friday.
The 1st one has black Superfine Sharpie as accent marks in v-grooves in the corian. After 7 pens and a week in between the first 7 and the 8th, the sharpie dried up.
The accents on the wood are burned into a v-groove made with my skew with guitar wire.
There is a crack in the corian centerband on the fisrt one because it craked during drilling.
I used CA and sanded to 12kmm and then HUT and then Crystal on the first 7 and sanded to 600, then CA/BLO on the 8th.
No the best pens I'v done, but a LEARNING experience for sure!!![^]
