Hi All,

My wife hates mixed wood blanks being used within a pen, but is warming to the idea on this one.

I thought the contrast of the lighter elm with dark spalting works well with the African Blackwood, and my wife for once agrees!

Hi Kenny,
I have to disagree totally with your wife... I like some of the mixed woods.. I do it frequently, mostly because I'll mess up half of a pen blank and being a bit of a tightwad, look for some way to complete the pen without losing the whole thing.

I added a Mun Ebony cap to a Deer Horn that I think is spectacular..

Hi Mark,

Yes photography is not my strong point![:I]

I need to practise more and spend some time looking at the postings in the photo's forum!

With that in mind, I am going to set up a lighting/photo area (Box) today, and improve on my current standard![:p]

Like I said in the post earlier, I want to improve on my photo skills, and to this end I set up a bit of an adhoc photo booth in my workshop, but the results are not bad.

No David Bailey, but all the same, it's a step in the right direction.
