Our Grandson who lives in Tasmania was recently in Japan and sent us a few mementos of his visit. He prefers dark timber so this blank of Buckeye Burl was just the ticket to say thankyou to him. Sending the pen today. We have 50 GC and GGC, 22 of the former, his older sister is the eldest GC at 42 yrs of sunshine.

Beautiful pen Peter. Living in Ohio (Buckeye State, but yes Buckeye Burl comes from California/Oregon area), I appreciate the beautiful grain patterns.

I also will second... you are mighty prolific, and blessed! I look forward to Grandchildren.

Be well.

Very nice pen on buckeye.
Like the dip in the body for the clip.

I love the pen and the first thing that hit my eye after the buckeye burl (beautiful wood) was the notch for the clip ball. I have done that a couple of times but that one looks much better than what I did.

Congratulations on a great family.

The O'Gee-chan and O'Baasan bring back great memories.

Beautiful Pen Peter,
Magnificent Buck Eye Burl, Splendid Finish,
Love the Clip Recess, Great Idea.
Congratulations, on your Fantastic Family. Just thinking, you would probably need to Hire a Hall, to get them all together at the one time.
Also I can't imagine the size of your Family Photograph Album
Turn that special piece of Timber you have been keeping.
Enjoy it for its true beauty.
Why leave it for others to enjoy without you?

Very nice (fair dinkum, I believe is the term down under) pen. I went back to see what Dieseldoc was saying. Great idea and a change from the same old top and clip. I might use that as a design modification. Thanks for sharing the photo.
