These have got to put me over a hundred of these made to date. The two with stripes are from Pakkawood I ordered from the Adams Pakkawood Company in 1987 and the two Walnut are from some left over stock ordered from Paxton Lumber in 1982.

Can always tell "old stock" on black walnut. Nothing available today looks that good. I have some 30 year old black walnut blanks that I am saving for just the "right" project...[:p]

Appreciate the comments.

Q. Are those Pentel kits? and where do you get the Pentel kits?
A. They are conversions of retail Pentel pencils from most office stores.

Q. It that just a natural friction finish?
A. The finish on the Pakkawood is micro mesh and a light buffing. Much greater shine is possible with buffing compound. The finish on the Walnut pencils consists of two coats of CA, two coats of friction polish and a light buff. I did not try to cover the grain marks for a perfectly smooth finish.

Comment: must be starting to feel better, I see your back in the shop

Reply. Yes, feeling great. Doc said my Sternum is 90% healed and that is all I needed to hear to get in the shop.
