I've passed this blank several times and finally decided to try it. I was scared it might chip when turned thin or threaded. It presented no problems. The size is 12.7 mm x 137 mm capped and 127 mm uncapped. I used a 5mm JOWO nib. Section threads are 9mm x 0.75 and the cap is 11mm x 0.75.

I've noticed most FPs have a cap with a larger diameter than the body. I've been making them to match. Other than not being able to post is there other reasons for the different ODs? Customer preferences? I'm a new maker and curious.

Danny

Very nicely done! Cool blank as well. I can see why it followed you home!
I tend to like a matching cap/barrel size.
The larger diameter caps seem to look out of place...to me.

Every time I make a cap that does not post, I continue to own the pen. Posting matters to almost every person that is interested in purchasing a pen - even when the cap is ridiculously heavy. I do not make non-posting pens any longer.

What does posting mean?

Mike...

Mike,

Posting is when the cap screws or attaches to the bottom of the pen so one does not need to put it down or hold it in their hand(s). Non-postable is where the cap will not attach to the bottom of the pen.
