This is my most ambitious undertaking to date as far as casting goes. The cap is abalone shell of my own casting. The body of the pen is black acrylic that I cast. It was turned and then abalone shell was inlaid. It was then covered with CA.

It was a good bit of work and I had a couple false starts and re-dos, but in the end I am pretty happy with it.

I wish I would of had a better kit to put it on. It is a SN Gent from Timberbits. This is my first full size pen. It would probably look good on a Platinum and black Ti kit of some sort.

I would really appreciate comments, criticisms and suggestions.

Thanks for looking

The rings of abalone are awesome! Looks really good.

I have some abalone blanks on order (still haven't cast anything yet but soon) and I hope mine looks as good as yours!

That is one wonderful looking pen! The only thing I can see in the photos is maybe a bit overturning at the cap transmition........but it's incredibly slight if at all! This is one to be very proud of!

Beautiful work Gary! I love it and would never let it leave my sight. lol
Just my opinion but I think the gold ring in the band and top of the cap would look great black to match the lower half. (just a thought).
