Abalone Shell from New Zealand, Pens

Made two Abalone Shell pens this past week. One an Imperial which is going to be a keeper and a Majestic Squire with some of this Abalone Shell which came from New Zealand. Cast by John (John U) along with a number of other blanks for me.

John did an unbelievible job of laying out each of these individual pieces with such precision it's amazing. As I was polishing these blanks on the lathe under a bright light it was like they lite up like a Christmas tree with the brillant colors.

I think the Imperial really combines with the blank.
