He is doing a chair for a 350# man out of curly walnut, the back was to tall for him,so the 2 peise of wood he is taking out will make 2 pens
1 for the man the other for the wife.
Will post photo when compete

Holy crap, Bernie, that's a hell of a chair! But I love it, and you were lucky enough to get a piece of it. And the pen looks great. I Amboyna burl is my favorite wood. I showed the chair to LOML and asked her if I could buy it. She told me that it was an extremely beautiful chair, but NO. Oh well.

That is amazing! I love that chair too; I would be afraid to sit in it -- although I did sit in a Maloof chair that probably cost that much or more.

Very nice pen! Isn't it nice that we penturner can "recycle" others waste wood. I sure would like to be able to go through his scrap wood pile.

I like the idea of giving the guy a pen made from his scraps.
