.308 Pine Cones

These are for a coworker he wanted them for gifts. They are .308 casings with pine cones for the top. The cone have been stabilized with thin CA before turning and has 10 coats of thin CA for the finish. They were mm to 4K then plastic polished.
Any Comments welcome. Thanks for looking. :)

Max really good job on those. I have problems turning the PR pine cone blanks, can't imagine just plain pine cone. Really great looking set there.

What kind of cones did you use?

I prefer the Afgan Cones! Yours look great, turned into the 'flame'...outstanding!!

Pine cones are a real test. They are so beautiful I wonder if you should have made them a little thicker at the top. Maybe those rifle clips dictated how the top was suppose to taper. I think they are very unyielding.
