Did these three pens couple of days ago and today...very happy with the way they turned out, especially the spalted Birch....amazing wood to work with...

Nice work! From what I can tell you got a pretty nice finish on those also.
The accents on one of the pens are about 1/16" deep and then seared with a wire and built up with CA, plus the usual 20 coats of finish with CA. So if you run your fingers along the barrel, you won't be able to feel the grooves, just a smooth surface...I loved making this pen, because it started out as a mistake and came up with this fix and i am very pleased and proud of this one....

Can't imagine Birch(or any other wood for that matter) actually getting warm enough to spalt in Alaska:eek: But these pens here.....WOW!! Nice grain structure and the finish is spot-on!
