I completed my 2nd custom pen this afternoon. I posted pictures of the section earlier and received several suggestions to slim down the section and make it more curvy/pinched, so back to the lathe it went. Comments welcome!

Material = Legionnaire acrylic
Capped = 144mm
Uncapped = 134mm
Posted = 170mm
Barrel Diameter at Section = 14mm
Barrel Diameter at widest point = 14.5mm
Section Diameter at Barrel =12.3mm
Section Diameter at Nib = 11.7
Cap Diameter at Barrel = 15.5mm

Very nice pen. Good workmanship and an awesome blank. As a matter of preference I would add a clip.

Thank you for the kind remarks. Clips are next on my list of stuff to learn.

Really impressive for the 2nd pen! Beautiful design! Beautiful finish! Now for one with the clip.

Your praise means quite a lot! Thank you for the lovely blanks. The clips I ordered should be here by mid-week. Guess I better get started on another pen so I'll be ready to try a clip when they get here. :biggrin:

This penturning is just the most awesome fun I've ever had!

Very nicely done. I like the shape and blank.

IMHO, you might get clearer pics without the props and extras.

I know nothing about photography. I just set the camera on macro and automatic. I used the breakfast table because there was more light in that room. I'll make a plain background from now on.

Most excellent, Renée! Can't wait to see more.

Now that you've done it, you can only improve and do it more quickly. :biggrin:

And yeah, people on this forum want to see only the pen in your photos, and maybe something to prop it up on. I was summarily chastised my ownself. ;-) FPN is a tad more lenient in that regard.

You pen looks really good and doesn't need the extra things around it. When I look at your photos, my eye keeps moving to the flowers due to the dominant color.
