Done making presents for everyone else, decided to make myself something. The lucite I've had sitting around for a year now, waiting for a kit to match, and my nerve to turn.

First time turning lucite. It drilled very easy. Was very chippy on the lathe, I took it slow. Sanding was very easy to get a glassy finish, and the material has a lot of color.

Great job on the pencil, as far as fit and finish. The material is just right for the kit.

Will that become a "Shop" pencil, or is it for use elsewhere? I have a couple of 2mm pencil kits (hiding) somewhere, and expect to have one employed on and around the work bench, whenever it shows up from the hiding place.
