hello everyone, I have here 2 screwdriver pens in walnut burl with bark inclusions. The 1st is chrome trim with about 15-20% bark. The voids are filled with purple heart. The 2nd is gunmetal with about 70-80% bark. The voids are filled with sodalite.Quite a challenge to finish these because they sanded so unevenly.I had to build then up with CA,cut them down and build them up again. While making them I told myself never again but the bark looks so cool.

Dale, I am glad it was you working on those blanks and not me.

As Scott said "Sounds like quite a bit of fun(work)!"
I think I might have given up in frustration.
I can't make up my mind about the Purple / Blue fill for the Voids, I think I might have settled for Brass or Silver, against the Walnut Burl, But that's just me.
Great Fit and Finish.
Congratulations,
Brian

Thanks fellas.I messed with using metal before but was not happy with the dust transfer and never bothered trying to figure out how to keep it from happening.

The purple heart and sodalite ts shavings is what I had on hand to use at the time.Honestly I was suprised the blue one even survived drilling considering how big the voids were.
