Thanks to LeRoy for offering the introductory special on these components. Here are 2 in TiG/GM. The first is a piece of spalted lilac. It was a pain to turn but I like the final outcome! I used a lot of thin CA to stabilize the punky sections and the knot added extra interest in the turning. I have some more of this but think I might have to get some cactus juice for stabilizing before I turn any more.

The second is a piece of mesquite I've had sitting around for a lot of years.

Both were sanded to 400 after the CA was applied and then rubbed with 0000 steel wool followed by Maquire's plastic polish. I know I probably went backwards but then I buffed them first with tripoli and then with white diamond.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks. The photo of the lilac one doesn't really do it justice as there are some very vibrant streaks of purple in the pen also. I was just glad that the thin CA was able to harden up the really pinky spots so that I could turn it.
