These are the first pens I have shown on here. Phil (firewhatfire) got me started and I am loving every minute of it. Photos aren't that great, learning that as I go also. I know there will be more bad than good. Thanks for looking..

Those look pretty good to me.

Nice fit n' finish. The wood selection is good.

I first turned a pen at Woodcraft's "Turn for Troops", and they had us using Mylands Friction Polish. With the advice of people on hear (as well as on line videos), I've pretty much had to teach myself through trial and error. I'm just now starting to get pens looking that good. It helps to have someone else to bounce ideas and theories off of.

I am gonna make a pen turner out of him yet...It's funny that I am the one teaching as I just crawled out from under the sawdust pile myself and got started a few months ago.

He may be teaching me before its all said and done.

Phil I don't think I will be the one teaching any time soon. Yes they they are CA finish. The darker one is oak and the lighter is birds eye maple.
